Childhood and Early Life

Thomas Luke Mably was born on March 1, 1976, in London, England.

He grew up with two older brothers and a sister. From an early age, Mably was drawn to acting and starred in homemade horror films. Upon graduating high school, he applied to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art but attended the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama due to its lower tuition costs.

After the first year, his parents could no longer afford his education, and local authorities refused to finance his studies.

Mably wrote to Anthony Hopkins for help, who sent him a check for £2,000. Mably was awarded a grant for his education and offered to repay Hopkins, but the actor advised him to put the money to good use in the future. Mably graduated from the school in 1998.
